One of the early jobs was to get the gable ends sorted out. the right hand end needed a new lintel to replace the broken stone lintel and the middle wall needed an opening created and new blockwork to accept the steel ridge beams.
The gable end
The cracked stone lintel
We took the outer leaf stonework down stone work down, there were some very big stones. Then we replaced the lintel with a 6"x 6" 90 degree steel angle which was galvanised. Then we replaced the inner lintels with concrete reinforced 140x100 lintels which were heavy to lift, and finally used blockwork to rebuild with a concrete pad to finish off to take the steel ridge.
